Memphis exam FAQs
Why do some older Memphis materials say 2008 NEC?
An older ICC Memphis/Shelby jurisdiction bulletin still available online lists legacy 752 and 754 exams based on the 2008 NEC. Its revision history stops in 2017.
The later 2021 Memphis and Shelby County Electrical Code names the ICC National Standard Master exam and optional Journeyman certification, but that exam name alone does not establish your assigned edition. ICC lists T16/T17 using the 2020 NEC and other exam editions. Confirm your exam ID with Shelby County; this package is for an authorized T16 or T17 exam, not a legacy or different-edition exam.
Do I use the Tennessee 2017 NEC package for Memphis?
No. Tennessee’s state-administered LLE and CE trade exams are a separate 2017 NEC track. For a Memphis/Shelby County T16 or T17 authorization, use JCR's separate 2020 NEC Memphis package.
