JCR Productions helps working electricians prepare for licensing exams, complete continuing education, and apply the National Electrical Code on the job. Founded by Jeff Rodriquez in 1985, JCR has trained over 20,000 electricians through its "Code Made Simple" method, now carried on by Lead Instructor Victor Ring. The result: a 93% pass rate for JCR classroom students.
JCR offers exam-prep workshops and self-study, continuing education, and private electrical safety training for contractor teams. CE classes cover field methods, safety, and business management.
What started as a mission to make National Electrical Code training clear and practical has become a long-standing source of electrical education in North Carolina and beyond. Victor Ring
Lead Instructor
Victor Ring has been a dedicated part of the JCR educational community for over 10 years, sharing a deep passion for electrical education alongside his mentor and best friend Jeff Rodriquez.
An electrician for over 50 years with an unlimited license, Victor has built a distinguished career in the electrical industry through decades of hands-on experience and instruction. In 1999, he founded V.H. Ring Electric, a successful commercial contractor, where he established a training center focused on NEC instruction and field methods.
As Lead Instructor for JCR Productions and a local legend around the NC electrical industry, Victor brings exceptional knowledge, clarity, and enthusiasm to his practical National Electrical Code exam prep and Continuing Education classes, supporting JCR's ongoing mission to advance high-quality electrical education and professional excellence.
Frank Shelton
Instructor
Frank Shelton, CEFP, started as an apprentice electrician in the late 1980s. He holds North Carolina unlimited electrical contractor and general contractor licenses and has led large institutional infrastructure projects, including medium-voltage networks, access control, and chilled-water systems.
He teaches CE and JCR's exam-prep workshops in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, and he presents at regional and national facilities conferences.
Michele Rutt
Instructor
Michele Rutt brings 20 years of experience as an electrical contractor and multi-state Master Electrician, with expertise in electrical operations, licensing, code compliance, and business leadership.
She has 10 years of classroom teaching experience and has mentored apprentices, helping several advance to Master Electrician licensure and pursue business ownership.
Michele invests fully in her students, giving them the knowledge, mentorship, and support to reach the highest levels of their careers. She is committed to developing skilled electricians, confident leaders, and future industry entrepreneurs.
Luke Willert
President
Luke Willert is the President of JCR Productions. Previously, he worked in the financial industry and researched 19th century American detectives in the History Ph.D. program at Harvard University.
Luke lives in Asheville, NC with his wife, two sons, and two dogs.
JC Hall
Operations & CE Director
JC runs operations and JCR's continuing-education program. She joined JCR in 2023 after roles at Lowe's corporate, Ashley Furniture, and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, and she holds a BSBA in Innovation Leadership from the University of Missouri.
Chassitie Pettit
Operations Manager
Chassitie is often the first person you speak with when contacting JCR. Since joining in 2024, she's brought extensive customer service experience to ensure every student interaction is professional and helpful. She manages daily operations and works to make your experience with JCR as smooth as possible.
NOTE: Victor is often teaching workshops and may not respond immediately. Email is the best way to reach him; he responds during breaks between classes.
