- Bring your own allowed books. The E-1 and E-2 lists include the 2020 or 2023 NEC, NFPA 72 (2013), OSHA references, and additional books.
- Permanent tabs are allowed. Temporary tabs and loose papers are not.
- A silent, nonprinting, non-programmable calculator is allowed.
- E-1 candidates use the Connecticut NASCLA Contractors Guide, 6th edition, for the separate Business & Law exam.
