Getting the most from your tabs

1. 1Apply the tabs at least 48 hours before you use the book, and pinch each tab firmly.
2. 2Practice navigating with the tabs after you finish Unit 1 of your Instructional Manual. North Carolina test takers should also work through Unit 20 for the NFPA 72.
3. 3Taking the North Carolina exam? Your JCR tabs can go into the exam with you. See the NCBEEC exam guidelines for the full book rules. In other states, check your testing board's tab rules before exam day.
