What to Bring to Your JCR Electrical Class

What to bring to a JCR class: code book, workbook, calculator, tabs, highlighter and pencils

Bring the NEC edition your class or exam uses, a picture ID, a calculator, and a notebook.

For a continuing-education workshop

Bring:

  • The NEC edition named on the class page. Most JCR CE workshops use the 2020 NEC, but do not assume your licensing-exam edition is the class edition.
  • Picture ID for check-in
  • Calculator and a notebook

For an exam-prep class

Bring:

  • The NEC edition listed for your exact exam.
  • For Tennessee, the state-administered LLE and CE trade exams use the 2017 NEC. Memphis/Shelby County’s separate ICC T16/T17 path uses the 2020 NEC. Check JCR’s Tennessee LLE/CE page or Memphis/Shelby page before ordering.
  • Your JCR study manual (it comes with every workshop)
  • Picture ID
  • Calculator and a notebook
  • Questions from your studying

Need a code book? JCR sells the 2020 NEC. Avoid relying on a random used copy unless its edition and condition match your class or exam rules.

Haven’t booked yet? JCR's exam prep workshops run two full days: $845 in person in Raleigh, Asheville, Mooresville (Charlotte area) or Winston-Salem, or live on Zoom. The study manual, videos and mock exam are included. See workshop dates
