Common questions

Does every Mississippi applicant take Law and Business?

Yes. MSBOC states that Mississippi Law and Business Management is required for all applicants, in addition to any required trade exam.

Does JCR prepare the NASCLA Electrical exam?

No. This package is designed for the state-specific Master and Residential technical exams. NASCLA Electrical is a broader multi-reference examination requiring separate preparation.

Can I schedule PSI before applying to MSBOC?

No. Submit the contractor application first. MSBOC reviews it and sends your testing eligibility to PSI.

Which Code edition does the state-specific electrical exam use?

The current PSI bulletin lists the 2020 NEC for the Mississippi Master and Residential Electrician trade exams.
