New York City Master Electrician Exam Prep - NEC Foundation Self-Study (2020 NEC)
Build a strong 2020 NEC foundation for New York City's Master Electrician written exam—without pretending a general NEC course replaces NYC-specific preparation.
This $495 bundle combines JCR's 152-page exam-prep manual, 100 study videos spanning 20+ hours, 500+ realistic practice questions, digital mock-exam access, and permanent NFPA 70/NFPA 72 Code tabs.
Important New York City fit note
The NYC written exam is closed-book and tests the NYC Electrical Code and rules. The 2025 NYC Electrical Code, effective December 21, 2025, is based on the 2020 NEC with NYC amendments. JCR builds NEC knowledge, calculations, and recall; it does not cover the complete NYC code, the practical exam, licensing eligibility, or a closed-book memorization program.
What this self-study course does well
- Builds 2020 NEC navigation speed, calculation fluency, electrical theory, and timed-test discipline.
- Provides a structured six-week study path with answers and video instruction.
- Helps you identify weak areas before exam day.
Know before you enroll

Best used as the NEC technical foundation alongside the current NYC code, NYC amendments, and dedicated practical-exam preparation.
Review the NYC Department of Buildings license and exam information before scheduling or finalizing your reference list.
No pass guarantee is made. Exam rules, editions, and references can change.
