NC SP-FA/LV exam: books and rules
The NC SP-FA/LV exam is open book, including the NASCLA guide. Bring your own copies of these three books:
- 2020 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
- 2013 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (NFPA 72)
- NASCLA Contractors' Guide to Business, Law, and Project Management, North Carolina Electrical 14th edition
These three books are the only references allowed in the SP-FA/LV testing room. The exam also covers NC licensing law (G.S. 87, Article 4), Board rules (21 NCAC 18B) and the NASCLA guide.
