Virginia Electrical Continuing Education

Virginia electrical continuing education

Complete DPOR-approved electrical CE live by Zoom—or join an eligible JCR class in Raleigh.

Virginia Journeyman and Master Electricians need 3 hours of Board-approved electrical continuing education during each three-year license term. JCR provides live, instructor-led options without turning renewal into another self-paced video assignment.

3 hr

Virginia renewal requirement. JCR is listed by DPOR as an approved electrical continuing education provider.

Live virtual CE

Attend by Zoom, follow a real instructor, and ask questions live. The upcoming VFD/PLC class is scheduled for September 10–11, 2026.

One course for J + M

If you hold both Journeyman and Master Electrician licenses in the same trade, Virginia requires one 3-hour electrical CE course—not a separate course for each credential.

Need exam prep instead?

CE renews an existing credential. It does not prepare you for the Virginia Journeyman or Master PSI exam.
