What You'll Learn

Morning: NEC Foundation

The morning session focuses on helping electricians understand where the National Electrical Code came from, how it is structured, and how to use it more effectively. You'll cover the history and development of the electrical industry and the NEC, the role of the US Fire Marshals and NFPA, and the agencies and systems that support the code. You'll also learn how the document is formatted and designed, including the three types of protections in the code and the ten subjects of requirement.

Afternoon: Practical Application

The afternoon session moves into real-world code use and application. You’ll learn methods for locating requirements within the NEC, using tables effectively, and understanding how key concepts apply in installation work. Topics include introductory use of Article 250 for bonding and grounding, plus application of core electrical fundamentals through the code, including Article 210, Article 240, and Article 310.
